- - - IN CHARACTER RULES
- No Godmoding. You're character can't be the master of everything, can't dodge every attack, can't never get hungry, can't sense danger a mile away, etc.
- No Powerplaying. I understand that at sometimes this can be hard to avoid, but you can't post something like, "He bended the rock and crushed his opponent's foot." It has to be fair, something like, "He bended the rock and aimed for his opponent's foot to be crushed."
- Good spelling and good grammar is always appriciated. Don't used chat speak like, "Brb hme dawg, gotta get sum chken."
Use English!
- No graphic love. You can write details about a kiss and a hug and sweet stuff like that, but if your characters are about to, well, you know, 'mate', I think everyone would prefer a little black out.
- Posts have no limit, but we would like for you to make at least a few paragraphs per post. Short posts discourage people from RPing with you, the more details, the more you can actually see the scene. There's always room for improvement.
- When posting in a thread with more than two people, I suggest a posting order. This is helpful because not everyone is on at the same time, or even in the same timezone.
- Don't be upset if someone else's character doesn't like yours. It's not a big deal, remember, this is in character.
- If you're tempted to change the color of the text in your posts or use bold or whatever, please make it look pretty so it doesn't hurt peoples' eyes, m'kay? Also, thoughts should usually be in italics.
- Swearing is allowed, after all, it's an expression of emotions right? Maybe your character has turrets or something...
- Battles need to be fair. Don't dodge every move, and don't do crazy moves that don't exist, okay? If you and your opponent can't decided on a winner, you can ask someone to judge it.
- Follow the plot. If there is a mini war going on, don't have your character dancing around the battlefield, and if a town is destroyed, don't have your character sleeping in a bed there.
- Posts will be posted in third person and in past tense, I don't think anyone wouldn't, but I have seen it before, and it's quiet confusing...
- Do not murder another character without said character's owner. Suicide should be announced to a staff member. Please notify a staff member if you're planning on having any kind of character die so we may move the bio into the archive.
- Don't have unrealistic aging. If you have a kid don't have it be a baby one day, and then the next it's all grown up. Time does pass in this forum, do your characters will age. By then, if you have a face claim, it will expire, and you probably won't use it anymore. I mean, you won't start out with a 19 year old character with a young face claim, and then have your character turn 40 with the same face, right?
- - - OUT OF CHARACTER RULES
- Please listen to the staff. We're going to treat this site like a democracy, with voting and electives and all that fair stuff, so don't be mad when a decision is made, it's popular sovereignty.
- Respect your fellow members. All of you are here to enjoy the experience and to evolve as role-players, don't make it harder on each other, alright?
- Don't complain about not getting an award or being deleted because you were inactive. There's a reason for everything, so don't try to annoy people to death.
- If you're being harassed or abused by any other member, contact the staff! We will deal with it, and if it continues, just tell us again and more drastic measures will be taken.
- If you have computer problems or are going on vacation, or just need to take a break from the RP world to gain muse back, make sure to post in the Hooky board so you won't be deleted.
- It would be great if you didn't go around bragging about the awesome new fantastical site you just had to make. It puts pressure on your friends to join, and honestly, it gets pretty annoying.
- Don't ever talk down to people just because they don't understand something right away. Asking questions is great and helps you understand, we greatly prefer you to ask questions than to make posts that don't make sense.
- Religious, sexual orientation, and so on jokes shouldn't be made. You never know what other people are and they can take great offense, it's terribly sad.
- If any rules are broken, please inform a staff member. We'd appreciate it if you don't try to take matters into your own hands, because then, things just get really messy, and you'll probably end up breaking a few rules yourself...
- One account per person. You may have as many characters as you want, but you must keep them all active.
- Make sure to read all the announcements and updates and all that important chiz. Many important things will be posted as announcements, like upcoming festivals or dinner parties, and updates such as rule changes or a ban.
